FRIDAY MARCH 9th

This is the date by which we need to elect one member to each of the State Convention Standing Committees (Credentials, Platform and Rules). If you are interested, contact Lorrie DeKay. It’s a good way to be part of the State Convention if you are not a delegate.

The tentative dates for committee meetings are as follows…

  • The Credentials Committee will meet at the State Convention on June 2nd in Seattle.
  • The Platform Committee will meet May 5th and 6th in Seattle, May 12th in Ellensberg, and May 19th in Seattle as well as at the State Convention on June 2nd in Seattle.

The White Salmon River is Free. What Next?

With a free flowing White Salmon River restored, salmon and steelhead will finally be returning after a century absence. Ironically, Klickitat County has imperiled this success with an ill-conceived plan to rezone hundreds of acres along the river, including land along the best salmon and steelhead habitat on the main-stem. The County’s vision?  Sprawling residential development of up to 10 times the current densities.

Bob Ferguson for Attorney General

For those of you who missed last night’s meeting, we were so fortunate to have Bob Ferguson address the group. He and his manager were on their way from Seattle to Tri Cities and Spokane, making a swing through our neck of the woods. We were all impressed, with both his qualifications and presentation, and will vote at next month’s meeting to endorse him. Please check out his website, www.electbobferguson.com, and you can also find him on Facebook. If you can send a little donation his way, it will help a lot! You can donate online or pick up a donation envelope at the next meeting.
